sorry...I don't know how that got sent...

I find that the BFH connecting strokes clutter the line of writing unnecessarily. I hope to blog on this someday and I'll post pictures. I'll let you see it if you're interested.

If, on the other hand, you decide you want to buy the BFH sheets and font package, please let me know -- I have an old edition I'd like to sell! :-)

If you're interested in reading an opinion on Barchowsky Fluent Hand from a complete stranger, read on...

One of the unique things about BFH is that it teaches each letter with both entry and exit strokes. (A font like D'Nealian uses exit strokes, but not entry ones.) Having started my son on BFH several years ago and seeing some of the things he struggles with now, I'm not convinced that including an entry stroke is a good idea. As I read somewhere recently, that the problem with teaching an entry stroke assumes that you'll always be connecting from the same place from the previous letter, which is not really the case. Look carefully at the BFH samples and see if you really like the way they look. I find that the

Dear Heather: I LOVE your columns on infant care and feeding. I see that you are in Canada - great country for kids and other living things. Please visit my two sites and see if maybe we might not unite in some manner to get your words out!

Best wishes,
Miriam
