I find that the BFH connecting strokes clutter the line of writing unnecessarily. I hope to blog on this someday and I’ll post pictures. I’ll let you see it if you’re interested.

One of the unique things about BFH is that it teaches each letter with both entry and exit strokes. (A font like D’Nealian uses exit strokes, but not entry ones.) Having started my son on BFH several years ago and seeing some of the things he struggles with now, I’m not convinced that including an entry stroke is a good idea. As I read somewhere recently, that the problem with teaching an entry stroke assumes that you’ll always be connecting from the same place from the previous letter, which is not really the case.
