When last I posted about Pomme’s progression in sleeping arrangements, she was happily going to sleep in her own room, by her own choice, though since it was still a “new thing,” we had not yet moved her “real” bed from own room to hers. We wanted to make sure this was a “permanent thing” [...]

Bedroom Tales
I realize it’s been a little while since I updated on Pomme’s sleeping arrangements. Basically, after the three days I previously blogged about, she went back to sleeping in her bed in our room for a couple days. She had a cold and was cranky, who can blame her?
However, within a few days, she wanted [...]

A Third Night in Her Own Room!
My last post was just after bedtime, when DD had, for the second night in a row, said she wanted to sleep in her own bedroom. The first night, she slept until 6am before coming to join us in our room after letting out one tiny cry. The second night, she ended up waking up [...]
Second Night on Her Own
Why do they grow up so fast?
I posted last night about how sweet little Pomme, not yet three years old, asked to go to sleep in her own room. Not only asked, but also accomplished. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen if she woke up during the night. Would she be disoriented? Scared?
Well, [...]

First Night in Her Own Room!
Tonight, completely out of the blue, while trying to get her to sleep, Pomme announced that she wanted to go to sleep in her room. Having co-slept since birth, and never pressured or pushed her or forced her or kicked her out of our room or our bed… here we are, she’s asleep in her [...]

Cutest Display of Toddler Empathy and Imaginative Play EVER
Pomme is playing with a big stuffed bunny — this thing is bigger than she is. I just overheard her talking to the bunny.
“What happened? Oh? Need a hug and kiss? Sad bunny?”
Then she gave the bunny a hug and a kiss.
“There! Happy bunny now!”
Grinning, she ran off, holding the bunny’s hand so it “ran” [...]

Her First Representational Drawing
Pomme is almost 2.5 now, and just drew her first person.
I guess saying her first “representational drawing” isn’t 100% accurate, because she has been drawing “with intent” for awhile. She has drawn rough oval shapes, thrown speckles into them, and said “whale!”
But this was different.
Tonight, she said “draw mommy.” She drew a small circle. Put [...]

Saturday Morning Breastfeeding Comic
I follow a lot of online comics, one of them being “Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.” Before you go scampering over to check it out, be warned — the topics are usually very offensive. Part of the humour is in the dark and twisted switcheroos on dark and twisted situations. Adultery and murder are commonplace, as [...]
