I have never heard of the Montessori teaching or toys, but this article shows a great example of them. I have homeschooled my children for 6 years now and am planning on homeschooling my toddler. This looks like a great direction to start heading, thanks for the very informative and detailed article with photos.

What a fantastic article! So true to. I love it when my kids have puzzles or activities that really make them work at solving them but all in good 'play' fun :) I used to laugh listening to my son because you could always tell he was really thinking hard and concentrating when he would start to breathe really deeply *grin*.
